"MY BABY"

Hudson refers to Cohen as "My Baby"

Hudson has been a dream with Cohen. I could not have imagined this "family merge" to happen any easier. Hudson adores his new brother, well, most of the time. Hudson was extremely upset when Cohen was having a bottle in the middle of the day and wanted one himself. Of course, we didn't give Hudson a bottle, instead we tried to explain to him that Cohen wasn't drinking milk and that he would not like the taste of formula...when that didn't work, we offered Hudson to taste Cohen's bottle. Hudson took one drink, looked at us, said "YUCK", and that was the end of the bottle jealousy. Hudson also wanted to take his turn being swaddled in Cohen's blanket...so while I swaddled Cohen, Peter swaddled Hudson in his own blanket. I hada "pea in the pod" (Cohen) and Peter had a 'giant burrito" (Hudson). As of today, Hudson only gets upset when Cohen is on the diaper changing table...Hudson will look up at us and say "my turn, my turn" even though he doesn't really like getting his diaper changed.

COHEN IS HERE!

On Monday night, July 14th at about 10:00pm as we prepared to go to sleep, Traci's water broke! We called in a huge favor from Darci and Jacob, who came down to stay with Hudson until Michelle arrived from Leavenworth. Traci and Peter headed to the hospital to await Cohen's arrival. Traci was admitted into a birthing suite at about midnight and labor began. Peter almost passed out during the epidural (isnt it supposed to be the other way around?), and then he promptly went to sleep. The Doctor informed us at about 4:45am that the baby would be here by 6:00am. Lo and behold, Cohen arrived after 3 pushes (we're not kidding) on Tuesday, July 15th, 2008, at 5:55am in room 555 at Swedish hospital. (Anyone got a lottery ticket handy for him? Trifecta?). He weighed 7.56lbs and was 19"long.

IMITATING DADDY

Hudson has taken to imitating his father. This picture is one of the more benign things he has chosen to imitate. Let's hope that he doesnt imitate his fathers 20's!

YELLOW PARK

Hudson and Traci discovered a new park just down the street from us. Hudson has dubbed it the "Yellow Park", as his favorite color is yellow. Some of the equipment at the park is yellow, thus, we think, the name. More importantly, the equipment is just his size! Hudson decided that he only wants to ride the big kid swings at the Yellow Park (yeish for his parents)!
