Visit with Great Grandma Billie

Our primary reason for traveling to Memphis for Thanksgiving was to introduce Hudson to Great Grandma Billie. We were able to visit her twice in a short 72 hours. Hudson loved GG Billie's bed, as it was automated and he loved to press the buttons and point out the cool lights! Hudson also loved GG Billie's purple ball for physical therapy. As Billie wasn't using it, Hudson took it home for his own entertainment!

Hamming it up for the camera as usual!

FIRST PIANO LESSON

Dad shows Hudson what he knows about Grandma Carol's baby grand piano.

Hudson observes...... tries it out.....

And quickly supasses his Dad's prowise in yet another area.....
Hudson's long fingers were perfect for the piano. He loved to play it and has a natural inclination to all things musical.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HUDSON

Hudson's 1st Birthday!

Hudson's day begin by sleeping in with his father, then heading downstairs where both the kitchen and livingroom were full of balloons. Hudson thought that was pretty cool. After playing spin-the-ball in the bath tub and wrestling with mommy and daddy, we headed downtown in search of a airplane cake topper. Hudson then got to go to his favorite place...Nordstrom 4th floor. Yes, it is true...it's not just because his mother likes to go there. Nordstrom's 4th floor has two large round fish tanks; Hudson loves looking at the fish. After wondering around downtown, we headed home to prepare for the birthday party...the rest is in the pictures.

The big question is: Will Hudson eat his birthday cake? If not, we have prepared Hudson's favorite food...PICKLES!

Hudson wouldn't even touch the cake. In the picture below, he is eating pickles.

The entire room got quiet as Hudson reach out for the cake. Don't get too excited...he didn't eat it. Wiped a little near his eyes, then freaked out.

Happy Birthday Hudson. I liked all the balloons at your party. --Jude

Jackson and Sam were more interested in opening Hudson's gifts than he was.

Hudson threw his hands up in excitement over a new outfit.

Hudson is heading for the envelope. It is more fun than his new farm yard.

Hudson loves books. We can read up to 20 books before bedtime.

LOOK WHAT I CAN DO

Hudson knows how to pick up finger food...he just will not
put any food into his mouth. However, as you all can see,
he has absolutely no problems feeding himself with a spoon.

A couple of times, Hudson had a little trouble removing the
spoon from the bowl and his yogurt go flying. Hudson thought
this was pretty funny; especially the time it hit his father directly
in his face.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

WISCONSIN TRIP - JOHN DEERE TRACTOR

Michelle & Hudson on a John Deere Tractor

Chloe wants in on some of the action...but I'm
not sure Hudson wants to share. Only child...I'll
have to talk with Peter about this one.

What is Chloe thinking?

Chloe is trying to take a picture of aunt Michelle,
who is now, for the first time, driving a tractor.
Hey Chloe, the camera is pointing in the wrong
direction.

TRIP TO WISCONSIN

Hudson and Chloe at Grandpa Mike's backyard. Aunt Michelle has graciously offered to pull the children around on a toboggan. Which reminds me of a story. One winter...a long, long time ago...my father, Grandpa Mike, decided it would be cool if his daughters had a toboggan to slide down the steep hill in his backyard. I remember the three of us getting all bundled up and then heading outside. We all got on the toboggan and slid down the hill. My father, from the slide line decided that we weren't going fast enough and decided to run the water hose to ice the trail. By the time this all finished we were cold and went inside. My father was a little dissappointed that we had thrown in the towel and decided to take the toboggan for a test drive. We watched from inside the picture window. My father, all bundled up, pulled his hat down tight and slid back and forth, then down the hill. This scene was one from like a Chevy Chase movie. Super fast, my father goes down the first hill, accross the yard...doesn't stop where he is suppose to, and continue over the steep back onto the ice covered lake...HE WAS AIRBORNE and all we could do was laugh, then run out to see if he was ok...I believe he responded with "Girls, I don't think you should try that.

CAMERA SHY

Hudson loves the camera. A couple of flashes and I have his complete attention and cooperation.

Hudson is ripping out pictures of toys which he wants for his 1st Birthday.

Hudson cannot find the exact toy he wants...so he decides to see what the catalogue tastes like.

Oh, wait...what's this, a flash of light. I'm gonna get you daddy.
