Meme (Mary) & Pops (Allen) Visit
Meme (Grandma Mary) and Pops (Grandpa Allen) are the first of several grandparents to meet Hudson. Hudson was only 12 days old when they arrived...which explains why there is no photo to go along with this posting...photos to come upon their next visit. Meme and Pops thanks for everything.

A loud noise coming from the hallway, Jackson and Sam have come to meet their new cousin. As they walk into the room the boys seem very excited to see Hudson however, they walk directly past Hudson to the window where they begin talking about the "my downtown" and the many cars they can see from the window. After the window excitement settles down...Sam is very interested in knowing everything about Hudson...as to whether he is a boy or a girl...if he has a penis...is he sleeping? Where as Jackson is clearley only interested in eating a starbucks treat that was set aside later consumption by me.

12:30 - 5:00 P.M. - Peter, Kari, the nurse, and I pass the time with small chat. Peter makes his way to and from the waiting room to check the college football scores. Every once in a while the nurse while the nurse will ask me if I felt the latest contraction...fortunetely I do not. I cannot feel anything from the chest down...I actually have to ask for assistance to adjust my legs.
5:00 P.M - As we wait for the doctor to check my status, we turn the television on for a rerun of Friends and then the local news.
6:00 P.M. - The doctor still has not arrived, so the nurse checks my status and realizes that the baby is ready to come out. The doctor is called.
6:30ish P.M - after about 1/2 hour and minor complications...Hudson is born. Weighing in at 7lbs. 6oz. Length (nobody really remembers) approximately 21in.

7:00 A.M. - My water breaks...I showers, get dressed, fix hair, and apply make-up prior to waking Peter. Peter showers. Prior to heading out to the hospital, we pack the hospital bag, reselect the Hudson's coming home clothes, eat breakfast, make the bed, etc.
9:00 A.M. - We arrive at the hospital and are immediately checked in.
12:00 P.M. - Epideral is administered and I feel more relaxed and pain free than I have in the last several months. Drugs are the only way to go.
